NC OBX Cobia Fishing

NC OBX Cobia ChartersPound-for-pound cobia are some of the strongest fighters in the ocean.  These fish are simply awesome to catch!  They make several long runs, and they make you earn every inch of line you can get back on the reel.  In fact, the only thing better than catching cobia is eating cobia!  Cobia is one of the best tasting fish in the ocean.

North Carolina’s outer banks fill up with cobia during May and June.  These big, hearty fish infiltrate our inlets in swarms.  A little farther south, most people bottom fish for these beasts.  Up here, we can catch them on bottom tackle…but we prefer to sight fish for them.  We’ll stalk out these bad boys and cast to them with artificial lures.  We often use bucktail jigs to entice the bite.  You can actually watch them inhale your lure.  Set the hook, and cobia take off for the back forty!  Drag is gonna be screaming, and you’ll be in for a fight you’ll never forget.  Sightcasting to cobia is definitely one of the most exhilirating fishing trips.

These fish are only here for a couple months, and sightcasting trips book quickly.  Be sure to check our availability and reserve your dates today.
